Care & Maintenance Instructions
Because this knife is forged from 1095 High-Carbon Steel, proper maintenance is essential to keep it in prime condition:
-
Clean and Dry Immediately: Wash the blade by hand with warm, soapy water after every use. Dry it thoroughly with a clean cloth immediately—never leave it wet.
-
Oil the Blade Regularly: High-carbon steel requires an oil barrier to prevent oxidation. Apply a thin coat of mineral oil, gun oil, or food-safe oil to the blade before storing it, especially in humid environments.
-
Wood Handle Care: Periodically condition the color wood handle with a light coat of natural oil or beeswax to maintain its deep color and protect it from drying out.
-
Storage: Store the knife in a dry place, preferably outside of a leather sheath for long-term storage, as leather can trap ambient moisture.
-
Never Dishwasher Safe: Hand wash only. Dishwashers will ruin the wood handle and damage the steel finish.
